This ensures capture of astounding amount of detail up to 100 JPEG images in a single setting. The various scene modes also allow photographers to switch to the perfect setting which will compliment their intended subjects. Pros: The Nikon D40X has exceeded its processor with its convenience with its variety of features such as the customizable ISO settings and fast auto-focus system. And the addition of the continuous shooting at 3fps can be almost unlimited depending on the size of the memory card available.

Cons: Though the features of the Nikon D40X can be the attention of interests, its lack of dedicated buttons for ISO control and White Balance which is essential for quick adjustments. Also, the white balance tends to perform a bit less with incandescent lighting, making poor adjustments under this lighting condition.

Overall: This model can go on par with other advanced models of high-performance digital cameras such as the Canon EOS 400D. Though some understatements especially on the image conversion of RAW+JPEG format outputs only to Basic JPEG quality images are a big deal but can be easily overlooked. With its startup time of 0.18 seconds gives enough flexibility for instant shots. Truly, the Nikon D40X provides features that give high-quality output.
