Olympus Stylus 1200 Review

The words “simplicity” and “function” comes to mind with the Olympus Stylus 1200. Its clean, simplistic design gives it a pocket friendly appeal. Its ideal size of 3.9 in x 2.2 in x 0.91 in and weight of 125 grams certainly adds to its appeal. Its traditional colors of black and silver finishes off its simple, classy appeal.

This tight, compact camera gets its punch from its amazing features. The Stylus 1200 features a 12.0 megapixel resolution and a 2.7-inch HyperCrystal™ LCD with 230,000 pixels. the high resolution lets you print poster shots with great detail, while the extra large LCD makes it easier to compose pictures. It is fitted with a 3x optical zoom lens and a 5x digital lens. All its features are packed in a waterproof body to prevent damage from the rain, snow, and dust.

The Stylus 1200 carries innovative technologies to complete its point and shoot package. First of these features is the Image Stabilization which helps to eliminate blurs in pictures, which is often caused by a shaky hand or a fast moving object. It combines two mechanical sensors, the Digital Image Stabilization and Shift Image Stabilization, to provide blur-free images. The Image Stabilization boosts the ISO sensitivity and shutter speed for a faster capture of an image.

The Face Detection technology in the Stylus 1200 ensures sharp and vivid images of your subjects, no matter where they are in the frame. It automatically adjusts the exposure to bring out as much details as possible in human faces.

The Shadow Adjustment technology compensates for the high contrast of light and shadow taken under bright light, such as sunlight. With this technology, the camera is able to capture colors just as the human eye would see them. Consequently, the Bright Capture in the Stylus 1200 enables you to capture clear images in low light conditions.

If you want to be sure that you are getting the shot that you want, the Perfect Shot Preview in the Stylus 1200 will help you address this need. It allows you to see the effects of the adjustments of zoom, white balance, and exposure compensation on the image before you take the shot.

With the TruePic™ III Image Processor, the Stylus 1200 uses all pixel information to create a high quality image with accurate colors. It is a technology adapted from digital SLR’s.

And after all these support you still feel that your picture is not as perfect as you would want it, there is still hope for you yet. The Perfect fix feature in the Stylus 1200 lets you correct shooting mistakes such as red eye and blur with a touch of a button.

The Stylus 1200 has 24 preset shooting modes that let you capture an image in any condition.
