Vivitar Vivicam T25 Review

A newest top-of-the-line cutting-edge digital camera --- the Vivicam T25 will soon be introduced into the market by Vivitar Corporation. Although the available information about the product is sketchy, the manufacturer assures the consumers that it is on top-of-the-line in terms of the fabulous, superior quality images it can produce. It offers some very interesting features which will delight the enthusiasts.

The newest product in the list of Vivitar’s digital camera series offers the highest mega pixel resolution of 12.1 with an image resolution of up to 2848 x 2136. These means more pixels or dots that make up the display screen and so therefore there is a clearer resolution or image. The greater numbers of dots or pixels in this particular product allows for more refinement of the image, which results in higher, truer image replication.
This will definitely be the most likely choice of people needing clearer image and sharpened up image details which can deliver high resolution prints in large sizes, such as 8x10 or even bigger ones. This is not the only feature offered by Vivicam T25 in terms of video imaging and resolution because it is also equipped with a 6x optical zoom lens, 4x digital zoom range and a very special 2.5 inch thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT LCD) monitor which allows users to have an even better and improved image quality. This TFT LCD is an active matrix LCD usually used for television, flat panel displays and projectors.

The latest digital camera from Vivitar is also enhanced with a Quarter Video Graphics Array (QVGA) which means a high degree of image display plus a capability to read image display even in daylight or under the sun. QVGA displays are referred to as 320 × 240 resolution since the displays are taller than they are wide (also called ‘portrait’ alignment as opposed to ‘landscape’).

It can record movie clips at 24 frames per second. It has an automatic white balance with different settings for Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten, Fluorescent and Sunset. It has a 10-second delay self timer which can enable the shooter to join in the picture and get a self photo. With a built-in 4-way automatic flash, and a red-eye reduction device, the Vivitar T25 assures the user of the clear and high resolution images. The Panorma function of this digital camera uses the Cool 360º software.

The product’s accessibility includes USB connectivity and or A/V Output (NTSC/PAL) and SD card slot. The Vivicam T25 has an internal memory of 32 MB and it also comes with an external SD/MMC card. It uses SD memory up to 1GB. This particular digital camera (as with the other series of digicams) is compatible with Microsoft Windows and others and can store files in several formats --- JPEG, DCF, DPOF and AVI.

The Vivicam T25 measures 91 x 57 x 27mm and with a display size of 46mm making it a very handy but powerful digital camera to take around. Its sparse weight of 0.4 pounds make is easier to handle and comfortable to slip into a bag or even pocket. The device runs on internal lithium-ion battery or and AC/DC adapter can be used. The entire package includes Lithium-Ion battery and charger, DC power cord and cable, USB cable, AC adapter, SD memory card, storage case strap plus the software and manual.

The 12.1 mega pixel Vivitar ViviCam T25 is almost identical with the 10-MP X625 lead which also has a 6X optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD, 32MB of internal memory, plus SD Card expansion. But unlike the T25 which uses a Lithium-Ion battery, the X625 runs on two AA batteries.

Pros: The Vivicam T25 is such a small, handy device packed with strong and multiple features that caters to the need for the ultimate, sharp-edged images which have high resolution imaging. The T25 is not only for the outdoors but also is a versatile device which can function as a PC camera as well.

Cons: As of the moment, the pricing and launch dates have not yet been announced and the technical description of the product is still very vague. The features by which Vivitar equipped the products are merely innovations of what the market is already offering.

Overall: The most recent Vivitar digital camera series for this year, Vivicam T25 is a good buy for people who have a great need for high resolution imaging. Although the high image resolution is far superior than most existing products, if one’s needs go beyond refined image detail then it would be better to explore other products especially that there are no words just yet concerning its price or availability.
